I'm Lucas Rich. I'm one of the categorical internal medicine interns. My favorite part of the program is the sense of community that the program provides always, from the attendings down to interns, the medical students. It's all one big team. The fosters a great environment for learning and education. My favorite part about living in Ann Arbor is it's really a city with multiple different flavors in it. If you're really interested in a downtown environment that's here. Obviously have University of Michigan and sports if you're really into that, as well as kind of like a more suburban type feel where there's a lot of parks and a lot of hiking trails nearby if you're interested. But right now I'm on the night hem-onc service where I work directly with a senior resident as well as a co intern. So usually it will be cross covering around between 15 and 25 patients. And then throughout the night we start admitting patients as well. So we admit usually around 2-3 patients a night, but all the way up to five patients each night. And then in the morning time around 7:00 when the day team comes in we'll be able to sign off the patients to the daytime interns so they can transition care.
