Best Parts of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Michigan Medicine with Andrew

I think one of the best parts about the program here is the levelness that comes with the lack of hierarchy rather. A lot of the attendings are able to teach by doing and they are able to take care of patients in a way where you say I want to be like that them one day and that allows the residents to really thrive in an area where they've been able to take autonomy for themselves and learn by doing as well as learn from the best of them. So Michigan has just so many strengths. One of the biggest things is the clinical teaching. The attendings are amazing. They do a great job of leveling the hierarchy where they're able to role model and show by doing and the residents because of that they feed off of it. And they're able to gain a lot of autonomy that a lot of other programs wouldn't offer and learn through the process of taking care of our patients together as a team. So I think that's one of the biggest things that I've learned from and really thrived from here in the program.
