Hi, I'm as my first year medical student here at the University of Michigan Medical School and welcome to Phi Rho. So Aasma, you've lived here at Phi Rho for one year, tell us what you love about it and why you're staying part of the community for a second year. So when I first moved into Phi Rho it was during the pandemic and I really was craving that sense of community but despite that when I moved in I was slightly worried that I wouldn't melt in with our upperclassmen, I wouldn't mix with well too well. But as soon as I came to the house the upperclassmen were so welcoming that really, really made me want to stay here longer. Living in Phi Rho I have had the advantage of seeing upperclassmen going through clinical year, which is my "M2 year" and as wonderful as that is, it's also kind of quite draining and I get to hear about their experiences as they come back and just seeing them having that community to come back to, a warm meal at the end of the day. I really want to have that in my second year as well. So Aasma, tell me about some of your favorite memories here at Phi Rho. One of my favorite memories here, I've had many ever since I moved in, but I think my fondest memories lies on the most spontaneous moments whether that be just running to the market with Alex to buy plants or just grabbing boba at the end of the day, I mean just knocking at my door, "hey do you want to grab boba?" and just going downtown to grab boba. If I want to pick one I think -- I never celebrated Christmas because I come from one person household and celebrating Christmas to the fullest extent in this house with my new family it was really one of my most fondest memories. It was my first time making gingerbread house with some of the actual other members who didn't make gingerbread houses before. First snow angel. My first snowman. I come from a colder area but still this was my first time actually living in the winter and the Christmas season to the fullest.
