Hey I'm Sagar. I'm a third year originally from Houston Texas, I couples matched here with my wife who's also a third year internal residents and I'm doing GI. next year. We chose Michigan because this was the really the number one interview place. We felt like all right, we definitely want to go here after just meeting all the residents, meeting the faculty. You can easily tell just with how everyone was interacting with each other as relatively laid back but still supportive environment, which is something we wanted, especially knowing how hard residency was gonna be. We wanted to know that we would be supported by our program by our colleagues and be trained well enough to be good doctors. So you see everything and everything. So pretty much here, Michigan huge catchment area. Um You get all the states, some of the surrounding states as well too. I like to think of it as kind of two separate things. So at the University Hospital you could you do tend to see a little bit more of the more complex type stuff. Like you could see patients who are here for their 4th, 5th 6th opinion about some specific IBD issue or something like that. While at the VA you might see some of the more bread and butter like patients here just for heart failure patients here just for pancreatitis, not saying that they don't have a mix and match of both, but I feel like you get a good breath of everything and then on top of that I feel like you know Michigan carries a name and because of that it has a lot of resources available, be it research, be it, you know, uh career stuff you want to work on in the future, like teaching all that stuff is here for you.
