Hi, I'm Surehka Annadanam. I'm a second year internal medicine resident here at the University of Michigan. I'm from the Midwest, originally from a small town called Burlington in Iowa and um I've done my training in the East Coast prior to coming here. I just missed home. I specifically missed the people here. You know, here in the Midwest, we really value community in forming these tight relationships with people that are around you we're caring, compassionate and we care for the neighbor. And so I really wanted to be in an environment that kind of embodied that. And I felt like the University of Michigan did on my interview day and talking to residents. So I came here and that's what it was. I think there's a lot of strengths to the University of Michigan's Internal Medicine program. Not only are we one of the top research institutions in the country, but we also have opportunities across the board in clinical medicine, academics, research, um global health education, Michigan Medicine really has it all and I think that's one of the main reasons that people should come to the University of Michigan. Um apart from that, the people that are here are absolutely wonderful. They truly care for you and want you to succeed and you don't get that kind of um community elsewhere. I love the University of Michigan, I would come here again.
