Skybridge tour: evans x annex!
Campus
Would you believe me if I told you I'm in two buildings at once? Well, technically I'm in the exact middle! Welcome to the skybridge that connects the Evans Library to the Annex! Living in Texas, we tend to avoid the heat/humidity as best we can and what better way to do that than to not even have to step outside when going from one building to the next? The Evans Library is home to TONS of books, computers, printers, even a Starbucks! The Annex is also a source for similar things, you can even check out calculators and other tools! Between these two buildings, you've got access to study rooms galore! One thing you won't struggle on this campus with is finding a study spot, you can plop down anywhere in these two buildings and get to studying! A little background for you from MyAggieNation: "The five-story library was built in 1968 and named in 1975 for Sterling C. Evans, class of 1921 and Board of Directors’ president from 1963 to 1964. The library absorbed the north east side of Cushing Memorial Library (1932), which now holds the university archives among other collections. The library’s sixth floor was added in 1979, and the entire library was renovated in 1998." Even Wikipedia has great information to add: "The library provides a number of services to support the teaching and research needs of Texas A&M students and faculty. The Evans Library Annex and the West Campus Library are open 24/5 to meet the needs of students who increasingly stay late to do research and reading for their classes, as well as work on projects. The Library Annex opens at 9:00 AM on Sunday and closes at 9:00 PM on Friday, while West Campus Library opens at 1:00 PM on Sunday and stays open until 5:00 PM on Friday. Wireless access is available in every library, and laptop computers and netbooks can be checked out for use inside or outside of the library." I love both of these buildings, especially in preparation for big exams! During finals week they set up boardgames, coloring stations, and even puppy-petting areas to be able to calm students down from the notorious stress and anxiety that big exams provide us with. Stop by Evans and the Annex to enjoy these amenities when you get the chance! You might even find it to be your home on campus!
