Ramapo also offers over 100 different clubs and they do activities basically every day. I've met so many new friends from going to different events, for example, in your dorm hall, they have an event every single night. I also went to watch a football game and that's where I met some other friends. I also went to a museum in new york city with my first year seminar class. So I feel like they really give you the opportunity to break out of your shell, even if you're someone who's a little bit more on the shy side like I am and I think Ramapo just really cares about getting you involved. That's why they have so many great events and organizations on campus that I've joined. So one amazing thing that I think Ramapo does, that may be different from other schools is that they make sure that they acclimate their first year students to the college. So one way that they do this is by giving every first year seminar class to peer facilitators per class. These peer facilitators are here specifically to help the student, they're not tutors and they're not just a teacher's aide, what they do. Their sole purpose is just to take care of those first year students, they're there to make sure that they know how to get to their class, how to talk to their advisors and feel like they have someone to talk to with all the newness of going to college. I actually love my peer facilitators so much that I decided to apply to the program myself and now I'm one of two pure interns for the pure facilitation program, volunteer about five hours a week of our time to make sure that these first year students love their experience as much as we did. I feel like that's just another example of how much from oppo cares. They don't just want you to come there and go through college and then leave. They really want to make sure that when you leave you leave with something, whether it was a great experience or a great education or just some new friends, I feel like I am a poet, truly truly cares about what you're doing while you're there.
