Okay, so I'm Eric Co, I'm a Senior Program Officer for Ocean Resiliency for the Harold K.L. Castle Foundation and I'm also a cohort member for the Distance Learning EMBA 2018 - 2020. My academic or professional upbringing has been through the environmental track. So a lot of science courses, a lot of resource management, geography course is not a lot of business, actually zero business courses. And I think as I progressed in my career, I realized that, you know, the whole reason why I wanted to get into the environmental field was to affect change and to help sustain the environment and its health, particularly in hawaii. That and really essential to that, was understanding the fundamental underpinnings of how that system works. As I've gone on in my career, I realized that really the other half of that is the social and really the business aspects of what all of us do. And similarly, if I was going to hope to contribute to hawaii's future health and well being in terms of our economy and our social well being, then I'd have to understand the fundamental underpinnings of, you know, the business system in Hawaii, um finance, economics, accounting, all of those things have been really helpful for me in learning how to promote a healthy organization for me as well as organizations that I've partnered with.
