Hey everybody my name is Dylan Laanui, and I'm currently at Florida International University here in Miami, Florida. I'm currently a participant in the national student exchange program, which I'll talk about later. So normally I'll be in Hawaii, Honolulu, and at UH. But this year I'm actually here at FIU. So let's go for a walk and I'll tell you more about it. So I'm on the other side of actually our library here at FIU. Which is this big seven story building, but more about me, so my name is Dylan Laanui, like I was saying and I'm currently a senior at University of Hawaii with plans to graduate in December. I'm currently also a TIM student, with a hospitality emphasis, and why I chose UH. So UH for me, I was born and raised in Honolulu actually, but for me UH was a great fiscal option for me. It's not too far from where I live, so I was still able to get that home vibe but also kind of be away. Now a lot of people ask me why or, you know, being incoming transfer students or a freshman, you may be wondering why choose TIM, why choose UH.I know from a lot of friends fromanywhere out of state, loved UH, and love UH because it's in Hawaii, it's in a very attractive destination and being able to learn in this beautiful place. For me being born and raised in Honolulu in Hawaii, I chose UH because of the TIM major. Ever since high school I wanted to be a travel industry management, and do something in hotels, in the industry, in the hotel industry. And for me I felt like TIM school was a great opportunity for that. And not too long ago the Shidler School of Business, kind of adopted and kind of integrated the TIM school. So for me being able to get a business side and hospitality side was fantastic, because I'm actually now majoring or excuse me, minoring in business. Which is a great blend for me, and I think it opens a lot of doors. So if you do decide to go to UH, to the Shidler School of Business, you know, there's a lot of opportunities, a lot of doors will be open for you. And ever since I first went to orientation, being a senior in high school, I met with some advisers already, who I still have till today, and they went ahead and introduced me and talked to me about the great opportunities like I'm currently doing here at FIU, in Miami. And even my sophomore year, I was fortunate enough to go ahead and study abroad in Italy. So UH offers a lot of opportunities for you to grow. I mean, resume building, network opportunities, and really become the best student and future hospitality business leader you can be. And hospitality industry in Hawaii is amazing, it's one of the best in the world, so I look forward to talking to you more about Shidler school of business, UH and the TIM school, and just with being a student here at UH is like. So I hope you guys all have a great day. I'll see you in my next videos. I'll walk around a little bit of Florida International University and talk to you more soon. Have a great day now.
