Meet Elizabeth a Graduate Student From UH Manoa's TIM School!
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hi everybody, I'm Elizabeth. I'm a second year master student at the TIM school at UH. I am originally from San Diego, but I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, and it was during my time living in Europe that I really became so passionate about travel and decided that this industry was for me. So eventually I sort of scoured the web to find the perfect master's program for myself, and that is how I have landed in Hawaii at the TIM school. So now that you know a little bit about me, I thought that I would share more about my schedule. Since I am a graduate assistant and a grad student, I am definitely always busy. But one of my favorite things about this school is that each week my responsibilities really change. This week for example, on Tuesday and Thursday, I helped out in one of the undergraduate classes, took some attendance, helped my professor edit some power point slides. While also I was helping another professor collect some data for their research. On top of that, I have a few zoom sessions for my various classes that are kind of sprinkled throughout the week. And I always try to incorporate, you know, being able to go to the gym, being able to communicate with some friends, and kind of planning ahead for the next week. Although this semester has been a little bit different because everything has been online. I think that the TIM school, at least my experience, I've really built this wonderful friendship with my cohort of other graduate students. We really try to support each other. We communicate almost every day whether it's, you know, about academics, or just about life and things. And I think that that is, those are lifelong friendships that I have made at the TIM school, and I also feel that way about my professors. You know, a lot of my professors have become really, you know, mentors in my life and I will continue to stay in contact with them, even after I graduate in May.
