The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
I'm a communication and public relations major here at slippery rock being a junior. I've already gone through two years here and I can honestly say that it keeps getting better every single year. So I'm from stone bro, pennsylvania, which is about 30 minutes away from slippery rock. My brother actually went to slippery rock and I followed suit right behind him and many people from my school actually do go too slippery rock and I always see people that I know around here that I played sports against. There's always lots of people to say hello to around campus. I'm involved in rock pierces say I've been involved in that since freshman year. I was able to be the account executive for the dress for success Fashion show planned that event with my, with my client, which was really fun, fun to see it all come together. I was able to be the public relations chair for rock pierces a for like a year and a half I think. That was so fun coming up with content for their instagram, twitter. I got to go to conferences before covid and network with professionals. So there's so many good opportunities in that organization. I am also now the social media assistant coordinator for enrollment services. Well I've been doing that for a month now and I have thoroughly enjoyed coming up with content to produce for slippery rocks. So that's been a great experience, Another great experience. I've had. I am now this semester, the president of our communication on our society, lambda pi ETA. So I'm excited to see all of our fundraising events come together. It is so easy to get involved here at slippery rock because there's so many organizations that you can join. There is something for everyone if you have a specific niche that you like, I guarantee you there's a club for it and if there's not, you can start one. There are so many people to make friends with through your clubs. That's how I made a lot of my friends here and it's a really positive accepting environment. A couple of the reasons why I chose slippery rock where one obviously it's close to home so I can always go home and visit my mom or my brother. I also have my own life here in my apartment right now. I lived on campus my freshman year commuted my sophomore year and now I have this apartment. So I've done a little bit of everything and hands down. Being on campus is the best piece of advice I could give you live on campus, make friends talk to people if it scares you, you should probably do it because good things come out of our comfort zones. Another reason why I chose slippery rock was, we have so many qualified professors, especially speaking from the com department. They are also so well rounded and they truly have been immersed in everything that we're learning and they want to help you, they want you to learn and they want to see you succeed. They want you to become one of those alumni that they talk about in their classes and they're like, oh my gosh, they did so well. Lastly, the second I stepped on too slippery rocks campus, I knew that it was going to be my new home for the next four years. There are so many good places to study like the library, the quad, It's not too big, but it's also not too small either. It's like the perfect medium coming from a super small school. I was always really worried to come to college because of like the culture shock of it. I hope you'll consider coming this slippery rock. Thank you so much for listening to my story today and I hope to see you around campus.
