Hi, my name is Aveion Levert. I'm currently a student here at SRU majoring in graphic design with a minor in communications. Originally I was born in charlotte north Carolina but I moved to Pittsburgh with my mom when I was around two years old. I went to The Neighborhood Academy, my high school years and I graduated in 2019 and I decided to come to slippery rock sounds kind of super run because the arts program was like small and we'll get to know if you wanted was a smaller school and also because of financially wise that it's just more affordable since coming from a single parent household. Whenever I got the S. R. U. I decided to start focusing more on graphic design. Currently I'm more focused on motion graphics though, which is just more of a subset of graphic design. And before I bore you with a long winded explanation. It'll be actually easier just to show you what motion graphics are. Now there's a high probability that you've already seen a motion graphics are whether you know what they are or not. A lot of the time they're used for infographics, where they're showing text across the screen, showing facts, different things like that, statistics maybe. And then there's also times in documentary where simply showing the name of whoever is talking at the moment right now, I'm more focused on learning how to use infographics and putting more animation into them. Right now I try to animate more characters, things from certain media already helps me learn a bit more about the animation side of things. Currently I'm using different clubs that? S are you to hone my skills in graphic design and different types of motion graphics. I'm currently in the game development club and which I'm learning a bit more about how games use motion graphics and using the opportunities to maybe try some of my skills and help out making the game. I'm also in the sign language club well, it doesn't necessarily relate the motion graphics. It is something that I definitely wanted to learn for a while. And then I'm also in the ad club, which is a part of the communications department. It's a club that specializes in getting advertisements for different clubs on campus organizations and different things like that. I'm also putting my skills to use at the library on campus. I work in the archives and special collections and do a lot of different social media posts for them. Since that's my job for them. Recently, I've been trying to incorporate using Rios and videos into social media rhythm, since that's what the internet is pushing right now, I would say slipping wrong, definitely helped me out with getting my self confidence out whenever I got here. I kind of came out of my shell and finally met people that were more like minded and like the things that I did and like help me push myself forward people that were just as driven as I was. Hopefully if I keep practicing making videos like this, I can hold my skills a little bit more, incorporate animation more and just brush up on my video skills, do something good with it.
