Hey, it's Jess. Still a real student. We're here to talk about another part of the enrollment process and arguably the most important part, and that is getting registered for classes. The whole reason you're here at North Country is to get an education and to get an education, you need to take classes. This step is comprised of three parts: preparation, meeting with your advisor and actually registering for those classes. Let's get started. OK, preparation. If you're still figuring out what program you want to take, there are a bunch of different options. There are a bunch of different programs and degrees that you can get at North Country. So if you're still undecided, that's 100% OK. I'm going to encourage you to visit nccc.edu/programs to really look through all of the programs that North country has to offer. Or maybe you do know what you want to do. You know you're going into the massage therapy program. Head to nccc.edu/registration. Take a look at all of the courses being offered next semester. Take a peek. I'm not gonna tell. Just a little reminder. Don't forget to confirm that you're coming to North Country. Make sure you go to nccc.edu/confirm. After that happens, you will be matched with an academic advisor. All of this preparation that you're going to do, either looking at the course offerings or the programs, that is going to make sure that your first conversation with your academic advisor is most fulfilling that it can be. You are going to meet with them one on one to have that discussion to say 'These are the courses I'm interested in taking. What's your suggestion?' Everyone here at North Country has a different background. Do not be afraid to mention if you have a job. If you have a family. Anything that is going to impact your time here at North Country, tell your academic advisor. Is there anything else that they should consider when they build the best course schedule with you and for you? So you're prepped. You're ready. You have had that really valuable conversation with your academic advisor and you're ready to register for classes. That's incredible. You're not going to be asked to register for classes by yourself. Your academic advisor is going to be there to do it for you and with you. So there's no waking up at seven o'clock in the morning to make sure that you get into that class. When you know which classes you want to take, tell your academic advisor and they'll register for you. In fact, your academic advisor is going to be your main point of contact for any scheduling changes that may arise. Maybe something isn't the right fit for you. If you want to withdraw the class? Academic advisor. Add a class? Academic advisor. And that's it, your academic advisor is going to help you register for classes. Then you can breathe a sigh of relief. The hard part is over. You are one step closer to being ready to come to North Country. Our attention is going to shift a little bit. It's time to think about your actual first day of class. For now, be sure to check out the programs, be sure to check out the course offerings, and be sure that you mention anything that's applicable to your time here in North Country to your academic advisor. Don't forget, if you have any questions of any kind about anything, reach out to your enrollment counselor or the enrollment team at admissions@nccc.edu.See you in the next one!
