Buying Books and Paying for College
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hey, you know me, it's Jess. Thank you for sticking with me so far. Attending college is not easy. Getting ready to attend college is even harder. There are just a couple more things that we need to address before you are officially ready to attend North Country Community College. I'm sure you can guess one of them based off of what's behind me: the bookstore. And then we're also going to talk about a kind of topic that nobody really likes to talk about, but it'sreally important: Paying your bill. The good news is it's fast, it's easy, online, all of it. Don't forget that you need to make sure your financial aid is in place to avoid being dropped from your very first classes. Here at North Country, we have two college bookstores on two different campuses. So we have one bookstore on the Saranac Lake campus, and then we have another bookstore on the Malone campus. These bookstores are your one stop shop for anything you need for a class, including but not limited to your books, apparel, notebooks, pens or mugs. I have a mug. Type in bookstore.nccc.edu That will bring you to the North Country Community College bookstore page. You don't have to be on campus at all to order your textbooks. You can do it right online, and you can do that by using the textbook look-up tool. Simply look up the correct term, the correct department, the three digit course number and the correct section letter. Once you've added all your items to your cart, you'll be able to check out and choose your desired delivery or pickup method. As someone who thought she could save money and then ultimately have the wrong book for class, order your books through the college bookstore. This is the final countdown. One more thing we need to do, and that's paying your bills. I have yet to meet anyone who finds paying bills fun. Hopefully by now you've received your bill in the mail, and there might be a couple of other forms attached. You'll need to fill out a billing authorization form, which basically is a promissory note, which says I agree to pay for college. Also, if you live in New York state, you'll want to fill out the New York State residency form in order to take advantage of in state tuition. You probably got those forms in the mail, but they can also be accessed in the student portal as well. To access the student portal head to https://student.nccc.edu Once there, log in using the credentials given to you by the IT department and those were sent to your email on file. The student portal is the place to go for any e-services at North Country Community College. All of the college bills are due before your first day of class. I'm going to say that again. All of your bills are due before your first class. There are two ways to pay your bill. You can pay your bill directly through the business office or through the student portal. I recommend paying online because you can do it from the comfort of your own home. Sometimes college can be hard to pay for, so if you want to set up a payment plan through the business office, go ahead. Congratulations! With those two things, how to access the college bookstore, order your books, how to pay your bills, you finished all six steps of the North Country Navigator program. You are ready. You are prepped. You are going to have a great semester. That is. You know, if you if you do your course work and stuff. You can access any of these step by step videos again as many times as you want at www.nccc.edu/navigator. If you have any questions at all of any kind about anything, reach out to your enrollment counselor. Also, you can reach out to the entire enrollment team at admissions@nccc.edu.See you!
