The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hey guys, my name is Tosin Ojulari and I'm from Lagos State Nigeria. So anyone from Nigeria represent. A little bit about myself, I grew up all my life in Nigeria but I decided to go to America to start my first degree in chemical engineering. Much like everybody that I knew everyone liked chemistry and we liked math. I'm so chemical engineering seemed like the best option. However, doing my internships and work experiences I realized just how much I appreciated more customer-facing role with consulting and I was able to learn a little bit more on how much I wanted to be involved in decision making and being able to be created. This led me to my first degree, my first master's degree, which was a Master of Management and Organizational Leadership. And in this Masters, it was able to reach the gap between my STEM knowledge, my technical know-how and the business fundamentals and coming out of this program. I realized just how much I love marketing. I knew I wanted to pursue marketing but I just didn't want to stop at marketing. I wanted to look at it from a technological innovation standpoint. And this led me to Ivey because I knew they had a very good business logics program. And so my story is actually kind of interesting because I started off applying to the business analytics program because I was completely unaware of the Digital Management Program. And then I stumbled across it by mistake halfway through my application and I was like wait, this program has technology innovation, business fundamentals, and also entrepreneurial thinking and it just ticked all the boxes that I needed because I know I want to create my company as well. And so I stuck my application to business analytics and moved over to digital management and it's been the best decision that I've made. And so coming into the program, my dad was a huge, huge support because he's also a chemical engineer and knowing the fact that he now focuses more on a business centered role. He spoke very highly on how important it is to have a good technical knowledge and also business understanding because then you can be a middle man, you can talk to people who are located and C-suite who don't have that much technical expertise and also relate the information from them to the technical experts and be able to have that power of communicating on both sides. So that played a huge impact on my decision to finally applied to Ivey and thankfully I got in. And if I have one piece of advice for everyone who is trying to come into Ivey, it's this, try and be self-motivated. There is nothing better than taking initiative and going at doing what it is that you want. A thing that a lot of my classmates always say is you get what you put in. And so if you put in a lot of dedication, you've done a lot of hours, you're going to get the best result out of Ivey and we're gonna have a wonderful time, but at the same time have fun. Don't stress it. You have so many support systems and I'll talk a little bit more. And the reasons why I love Ivey in my next couple videos. Thank you guys so much for listening. Have a nice day.
