 Hi, My name's Alina. My name's Sarah and we're actually classmates here at Ivey Business School. We met in our core classes, and we actually also live in the same building. So just to tell you a little bit more about myself before coming to a business school, I worked at Indigo Books and Music, which is a bookstore chain across Canada, and I completed my undergraduate degree actually here at Western University in Accounting. Before coming Toe Business School I was working at Me to We, which is a social enterprise across North America who supports that a charity organization called The Charity. Before that, I was receiving my psychology degree at the University of British Columbia. Just to tell you a little bit more about Ivey Business School. So the school is located in London, Ontario, in Canada. Here at Western University our current class size is about 176 students, and the average age is about 28 years old with an average years of work experience of about five years. Through the process of understanding where exactly. I wanted to go for my business degree. I was looking at a few different universities across Canada specifically, within Ontario, Canada as well as the East Coast of United States and a big piece for me was trying to understand opportunity where I could learn firsthand from experts in the field through different classic different opportunities and especially my classmates. And what really drove me to looking into the Ivey Business School was actually the class visit. So there's an opportunity that you get to actually come to campus during class session or virtually online and you get to experience firsthand what it's like to be sitting in a classroom learning from the professor but also understanding what your classmates might be able to contribute. And that was a really unique opportunity that also gave you the opportunity connect with recruitment team as well some of the alumni there. So a couple of reasons why Sarah and I actually both picked come to Ivy Business School can be broken down into three buckets. So the first one is a case method learning. This is something that was really great. It was a good opportunity for us to be able to use these business skills that we learn through school and actually apply them to real life problems. The second reason would be the alumni network that comes with Ivy Business School. So within that we get to basically connect with anyone who's graduated in the past and also, it's a great way to basically learn about careers or talk about different industries that you maybe wanna potentially be a part of and lastly, the career management services. So there are really great people who are there to help you and support you throughout your time here at Ivey Business School, and we'll help you pivot into the career that you want to go into. When it comes to the application process and as you begin to start writing the essays and start something some of your resume and other additional material some tips and tricks that we would suggest is Number one. Make sure that you make those connections with the recruitment team, alumni, current students and even some of the recent graduates. A big piece that makes the successful that gives you the opportunity to understand what Ivey Business School is all about from different teams and different individuals who interact to school every day. You can do that for different events by reaching out through online by submitting your resume on their website. But it really just helps understand what the class might look like for you and how you can be a great fit for the next class. Another piece of advice that we want to share with you is really understanding what the admissions team is looking for. So I think the most important thing that you could do on your application is be authentic and show your true self. So instead of just talking about those plastic resume points, I think the admissions team really wants to see what your passion projects are, what hobbies you do and what you really do outside of school. They really want to see how you would be a great asset to the class for the year.
