My name is Destiny, and I'm a second year student here at Florida Southern. This will be my first video where I introduced myself tell you guys while a Florida Southern and why I chose the school. In the end, I'll give you a room toward my dorm. I love Florida Southern for various reasons. So I'll take you guys around the different places that I love. Okay, So for reason number one of why I chose Florida Southern, I'm going to take you guys to the Rose Garden. The aesthetic of Florida Southern gives that for me it is domestic, warm and welcoming, and the plants are gorgeous. So I'm gonna take you guys to the Rose Garden centrepiece of the campus As soon as you enter towards the back way and when you first come up, the cutest thing is the fountain we have up here. So here's the cute mountain, and then I'm gonna walk you guys through the actual Rose Garden, please. An experience whenever you just want to walk around, especially on the weekend days when you don't have as much work to just walk through the Rose Garden. Here we go to the centerpiece through a cafe in library area, and that is our water dumb fountain. So you come over here, you can see it up close, okay? In the center, right here by our library and cafe. The water dome actually comes on, and it's the most grand thing because all the Sprinkles come around on every angle. I'm going to take you guys up closer to it, and up there is our library. So when you come up on campus actually a centerpiece, we have three different areas. You can come in up to the library and the water dome is right up here. I've had some reason number one as to why I love Florida Southern and for reason number two, I want to talk to you guys about my professors, which have driven me to love Florida Southern. As I was saying before about the professors and why I love it here with them, it's because they're very personable. Florida seven is a private schools, so we have the liberty of being in smaller classes with them, which gives us more time to have tailored experiences and for them to get to know us better. I have loved every minute of meeting everybody, and I think that's very important, that you love the people you talk to and who will be teaching you for the next four. It's just great when you get to see them walking around campus, smiling and waving. It's been a great experience for me thus far. So now that I've gone over, why love Florida Southern? I want to talk to you guys about why I chose the school over. Initially when I decided on applying to schools, a big thing for me was finding somewhere I knew would have Taylor experiences and opportunities for my major. I found that here at my favorite ones and ones, I feel our most promising is the PP program we have. The P three program is essentially professional planning and training, and what they will do is help you figure out what you need to do to apply to graduate school essentially happens is you're guaranteed a recommendation letter for your applications. When you're applying to medical school, they will do mock interviews with you to ensure you're ready for this process. There's a lot of other advice and tips they give. Whether you want to go into medical, medical school or veterinarian school PT school, any school that applies to going to professional level, the PhD program will help. I also love the fact that we have a mentorship program. Um, the first year majors in biology will essentially get a upperclassmen to mentor them for their first semester here on campus, adjusting to being a bio major so as a fierce When I was the first year I went through the program and I had a mentor, and we'll meet up on Fridays and Mondays and we got to sit down and talk, play fun games. If I had any advice I needed or any studying tips, my mentor was there to give them to me and then in turn, once you move up to a second year, you can then apply to be a mentor. I am currently a mentor to first year students who are also referred to as to why I chose for the Southern. So on campus we have this beautiful building called Rogers, and they offer different career services opportunities and overall, developing yourself to be ready to apply. In the Southern, you'll get in handshake account, which is a platform where you connect with other people who want to hire students. So you'll go through that website and you apply there for jobs and things and you'll get to meet up with the career services Mentor interviews, get a workshop on networking, and it's just a great experience to help you with learning how to get ready for a real world and applying for jobs at the professional level. I'm into first year residents Hall, and I'm a resident advisor. So that's why I stay in the first year holes and this is my door here. So I live on the second floor of Wesley here and you come in. So I have my little study area over here and I have a great view of like Hollingsworth so pretty to wake up to, and you're also provided with a microwave and fridge, and I have that as well as my beanbag, and you're also provided with a wardrobe as well as the bed.
