Oh, what are you doing here? You wanted to learn more about four to Southern College. My name is Gretchen Frese, and I'm a current freshman at Florida Southern College. When I'm spending my time on campus, I reside in Joseph Reynolds Tall, which a lot of us at four Southern College like to refer to as Jr. It's a freshman dorm of all female students. When I am not living at four to Southern College like I am right now, while we are on our two month break away from school, I reside in Claremont, Florida, which is a small town right in the center of the state of Florida. I'm currently on a two month break from school on campus at Florida Southern College. This is something that our colleges currently doing in order to keep the safety of our staff and students as their number one priority, which they have done a fantastic job that I can attest to as a freshman at the college. To balance off of that, I'm sure amidst this uncertain times something you're really curious about knowing is our classes in person. Are we studying remote or what's going on? That seems to be the number one question with Kobe, doesn't it? For my personal experience, I was a residential student of the college from when I first started my fall semester there. Up until we're going on this two month break, I was able to take classes in person but also hybrid and online style while being a resident of the college. What if something has also made it an opportunity for us to have commuter students where you live in the local Lakeland area and you can drive to the campus to attend in person classes or still choose to take classes 100% online? If that is what you are comfortable with, given the circumstances of Cove in 19 Way also have students who are remote at this time, and that means that you are not a commuter or residential student. Instead you take all of your costs is 100% online, but you're still a registered student through Florida Southern College. I started my college search roughly around my junior year of high school. Around my senior year is probably when I started to be like, Okay, let's nail down some potential schools to go Thio And for me, 4 to 7 college happened to be in one of the top three schools that I was considering. Florida Southern College did a really good job of being on my radar and making sure that it was somewhere that I wanted to be. The way I first found out about 4 to 7 college, it's from my brother. He did impact my decision to attend the school because he is three years older than me and he actually toward for two Southern college and right away. I knew that it was a school that I could potentially see myself going to one day when it was my time to actually do the college search for me. Florida Southern College was absolutely incredible and really brought that family aspect to the table that you hear so much about one of the first things I did with my search for four Southern colleges go to a scholar's Q and A lunch, and that was hosted. They had, like, orders and drinks, and it was just a presentation to tell us a little bit about the programs there and some of the opportunities that for two Southern College had to offer. So from there I scheduled something called Our Scholars Weekend that for two Southern College has to offer. You get a host, you get an orientation leader who are actual students and residents of the college, and basically you get to explore all the opportunities of Florida Seiler. While you're there, meet with people and professors that are actual students on directors of the program that you're interested in and get a lot of hands on on firsthand knowledge from the people of the college themselves. Um, even though I was a little nervous to tell my parents at first, which is totally normal, you know, it's something totally normal about the college search. After I declared my decision, you know, I went through the process of actually telling for two Southern Hey, guess what? I'm one of your new students, and that was a whole new venture in itself. Ah, lot was in question about my freshman year of college, and Florida Southern College made it as easy and a stress free as they possibly could, and I am very thankful for that. I know one thing that really stood out to me about Florida Southern College during this whole pandemic issue that I didn't think I would get out. We had to make sure that I knew that she was actually listening to my concerns in one of the best for me as one of their new students. After going through the whole process, I did end up starting at four to Southern College in the fall of 2020 so I'm currently finishing up my first semester. It's been awesome experience and I'm so glad that I chose for two Southern College as my home for the next four years to tell you a little bit about my on campus experience at Florida seven college. Florida Southern College has made it a really smooth sailing process for me to know what classes I need to take when I need to take them and the path we're going to take to get there, and also some opportunities that the college has to help make it easier opportunity for me. That's one of the great things about Florida Southern College. In my opinion, I think that 47 college can be home to anyone, but I may be a little bit biased. Uh, one thing that I would definitely say about 4 to 7 college that I think is a really good fit for you is if you are really looking for a college that has that family aspect to it, you'll hear basically any student at Florida in college, any administrator, any professor preach on their family aspect that they try and work with, and just the community involvement that they have. One thing I wanted to point out about Florida Southern College is that there are so many opportunities for you to thrive and for you to get involved. I know that when you're entering college, you're entering a new stage of life, and that could be really intimidating. Florida Southern College has made it such an open platform for students to get involved and be recognized and put their face in their name out there and meet new people even amongst the Koven 19 pandemic. We plan a lot of the events on campus, and it's a great way to reach out and get to know your fellow peers on Florida, Southern College campus and even remote students because we host things that are remote students are able to participate in at the time of Kobe 19. I hope you found this video helpful and you learn a little bit more about Florida Southern College. If you have the opportunity to further your search at 47 College, go and do a campus tour.
