I'm from Florida Southern College, and I wanted to talk about the meal plan and meal options that there are on campus. Firstly, there is wines Bistro that we call it the Calf. Every day gets kind of a bad rap, but it is so much better than a high school food. In my opinion, it's a cheap $6 of your dollars that you get for the meal plan for everything that they give you, which is an entree to warm sides and two fruit and dessert sides. It also comes with a free drink and possible ice cream from the new ice cream machine. It has breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekdays and just brunch and dinner on weekends. It has the best fries on earth, lots of good options for good, greasy American food. It also has an impossible burger for vegetarians and great milkshakes. I usually don't eat those until the end of the day because they make me sleepy. So good Steak and shake is also good for a meal on the go. If you've got to get somewhere, it's good to just grab bag and get out of there. It's a good stop for burgers, too, if you like that, and if you need a quick drink, you find that there, too. It's aptly named because it is right downstairs from the cafeteria. It's good for warm sandwiches, soups, wraps, frozen yogurt, and it's a great place to stop late at night because it stays open a lot longer than a lot of the other places. It's kind of hidden on the outside edge of campus, but it has amazing Mac and cheese and waffle fries. It's good for a small meal that will carry you throughout the rest of the day. Next is two twos Cafe that is mostly for coffee, which I don't drink, but I've heard great things about it. It's right next to the library, so it's good for a study. We also have other drinks, like hot chocolate and tea and other things. It's also got food like sandwiches, snacks, muffins, etcetera. Even with all those really good options on a freshman's meal plan, you cannot eat it all. It's good for having food in the door without having to go to the store and pay real money for it. It has microwave meals, back snacks, candy chips, drinks, ice cream, anything you could possibly want. Never buy water from a store on a freshman's meal plan. On top of all of that, there's also a farmers market. Roughly once a month, it is full spread of food, fruits, vegetables and it's all payable with your snake by dollars. If you have a craving for something that's not readily available on campus, there's a strip of awesome places to eat. A few blocks away from campus right in Lakeland, it's less than a five minute bike ride, and bikes are free to write by the Day and the Wellness Center. All this is just to say that Florida Southern has a lot of really great places to eat, and all of what I said doesn't even really cover it, so I hope you're hungry.
