My name is laura breakage and I teach sped science for freshmen, juniors and seniors. I became a teacher because I thought that I had what it takes to provide the guidance and the nurturing and the knowledge that was given to me when I was their age. I loved their charisma, I loved their openness and there ways of accepting differences from others and um their enthusiasm, science is always being updated, there's always new results that you have to look into, and I love that is always changing and there's always a growing knowledge that you have to be up to date five, it's always relevant, no matter what you're doing is relevant to every day, saturday school is a program that really should be offered for every student. It's a place in time where students can work on skills that they need to work on, that we don't always necessarily have opportunities to do so during regular class time. Um in addition to a lot of learning gaps that were created during the pandemic when we're all at home, there's also so many variables that can affect a student's learning throughout their entire life. So saturday school is a time and place for us to not just recap or relearn but to solidify skills that are gonna be prerequisites in their future, learning what makes it so special is that it's a smaller group, we have more time to go over the States, we have more time to look at our work and review our work and um it's a really calm and nurturing vibe and I'm not giving up my personal time at all, I'm happy to be here.
