My name is Alana, and I am a senior from Austin, Texas. I'm primarily in the Olin Business School where I am have a primary major in accounting, and I also have a minor in anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences. Today I'm going to talk with you a little bit about why I chose wash you to start. I know a lot of you are in your college search right now, and I thought it would be helpful to provide a little bit of context about what I was looking for in a school when I was a prospective student. The first thing I knew that I wanted was coming from a larger city. I knew that I still wanted to be in a big city because I wanted to be able to have lots of things to do every weekend. I knew that I also wanted the school to have a physical campus. The residential halls are relatively close to all of the academic buildings, and you have your own central campus feeling. I also knew when I was looking at schools that I wanted there to be a lot of different activities for students to get involved with. Wash You was actually the first school that sent me a letter in the mail, and that was what initially piqued my interest in Wash you as I never heard of it before. After I got that mailer, I started doing a little bit more research into the school and noticed that it was really checking a lot of those boxes, I said just a moment ago, it was located in a bigger city, ST Louis. It also had its own physical campus, were located just outside of the suburb of Clayton. There were a lot of activities to do it wash you. Currently, I think we have over 400 different student organizations on campus. So I was really excited that I had found this school that seems like it checked all of my boxes. I ended up taking a tour over spring break of my junior year in high school, and while the campus was really empty, I absolutely loved what I was able to hear from the tour guide because up to this point I really only knew what I had seen online and so it was great to hear from a student about their own personal experience. I ended up applying toe wash you and visited again as an admitted student for one of the admitted student visit days where I got to see a little bit more about the campus with all the activity that was going on as well as here for some from some students about their own experiences. I got to talk with a lot of different washing students who have taken time out of their busy schedules to talk with perspective students about their experiences and talk about how much they enjoyed being in the presence of other students. This visit, we can really seal the deal for me and made me fall in love more with the campus than I already waas. I really got to know current students and I got to meet a lot of students who would be my classmates in the coming fall, and everything I've stated about why I fell in love with wash you to begin with is what I still love about wash you, the biggest of all being the community here wash you during your first semester Here you'll take probably 12 to 15 credit hours of class or 4 to 5 different classes. Maybe 3 to 4 hours of class that you're in per day the rest of that time you're spending with people, and I realized that more than anything, I wanted to be at a school where the community was incredibly supportive, where outside of those four hours of class, every single day, I knew I had a great group of people I could spend time with. I'm so thankful that wash you sit me that Naylor and I've learned about the school to begin with, and then I ended up coming here, and I'm so grateful for the last four years I wouldn't change it for anything.
