The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hey, guys, it's Hayden. And in today's video, I will discuss clubs and extracurricular opportunities on campus. W S U has over 300 registered student organizations. In the description below, I will include the official link to the W S U student organizations Web page. I would highly recommend visiting this page and exploring clubs that spark your interests. W Shoe truly makes a way for every student to get involved and connect on campus. Currently, I am involved in three organizations on campus, including my sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, Cougar Connectors and the Associated Women of Communications. My involvement in all of these organizations has afforded me lifelong friendships, professional development and leadership and volunteer opportunities. First, let's talk about Greek life at W S. U. Currently there are 60 active chapters on campus, which are represented by 25 fraternities, 14 sororities as well as multicultural and professional councils. I went through formal sorority recruitment as a freshman, which starts a week before the first day of school. The process is similar to speed dating as you are getting to know a variety of people from every chapter. As the week progresses, you narrow down which houses you are most excited about, based on the conversations and connections you had throughout the week. In my experience, the beauty of a sorority is you will find every type of personality. No matter what house you join, there will always be someone that you will connect with. Greek Life is a welcoming and supportive community that offers volunteering and leadership opportunities. It has also afforded me so many lifelong friendships and instant connections. If you were interested in joining a Greek chapter, follow the link in the description below at go greek dot ws you dot e d u. I would highly recommend joining a club pertaining to your academic feature. I am studying strategic communication with an emphasis in public relations, So I decided to join the club Associated Women of Communication. This club has afforded me so many professional development and networking opportunities within my major. Joining clubs and organizations paves the way for memorable experiences, professional development and valuable connections in college for freshmen and transfer students. When you attend your live orientation, you will have access to club an organization fairs where you can sign up for groups that spark your interest. Those groups will then contact you about meeting times at the start of the semester. Joining a W shoe club is such a positive step in growing your resume and Coug community. Thanks for watching and, as always, GO COUGS!
