Welcome to Vanderbilt University's own Graduate School of management campus. Siris of videos Here we're really excited and hope you got a great deal of the own community and that we can answer some questions for you kind of along the way. First, I'll introduce myself and then share a couple of details about the own community and Vanderbilt itself. I'm a second year MBA focusing on human and organizational performance, which is our kind of name for essentially HR. So typically that that concentration recruits into the corporate HR path or the human capital consulting path. I chose the corporate HR Path and intern with American Express right here from my apartment and national because of covert 19. Eso did everything remotely, and I will be returning to American Express full time post graduation. I'm from Chicago, Illinois, originally on went to the University of Michigan for my undergraduate degree. So go blue if anyone else out there is a Michigan alum. I loved it, but I studied sociology in art history, and I never took a finance class, so I am. After spending five years at a retail startup in Chicago and getting some great work experience under my belt. I had understood at that point after five years that I wanted to focus on H. R. And I wanted to build a career there but had a really good understanding as well, that I needed to take a finance class accounting kind of get those core business skills under my belt. I've been really pleased with the community and the experience thus far a bit about the program and kind of why we're different. Eso my class sizes about once it 1 50 Excuse me in the first year class is about 1 80 a little higher than that. Eso We pride ourselves on that smaller community, feel the program and that the school itself is actually only graduate students. So it's on Lee MBAs on a couple of one year masters of finance, master of marketing masters of accounting programs. Then there is kind of a weekend and night executive MBA programas well, so even the building itself is a smaller footprint. Obviously, I'm not there right now, calling him from my apartment here, but I think one of the things that stood out to me about going through the process eyes. It was just a space dedicated to the graduate experience, which I think is unique and really special. Um, even just the ability, Thio, you know, put your stuff down in class, run down to the printer really quickly get some water on the way back to your classroom. Just little things like that about kind of the environment make it really easy and conducive. Thio get to know a lot of really wonderful people and have a great experience as a student s. Oh, that's a bit about Ellen. We have, of course, all of the great basic concentrations. Eso I personally had never lived south of Chicago, but it is a wonderful place to be for a couple of years. I'm personally huge golfer and I get to golf year round, which is amazing. We get to go down to Vanderbilt Legends Golf Club, where Vanderbilt students can play the discount eso. As I look out from my apartment, I can see the airport were only about 12 minutes from the airport, which is also a really huge perk, especially when you're traveling for interviews or, you know, for any other reason. It's really easy to get a friend to come pick you up s. So that is a bit about me and about the community. Again, thanks for Timoney and and excited to share a bit more about the experience with you.
