I'm a first year MBA here at Vanderbilt Going, um, originally from Nigeria. I was born and raised there, but I've lived the last 12 13 years here in the United States. I signed up to take classes in person, so I go in every so often, but I mostly a t least in the in the past few mobs have have joined class remotely through Zoom because I live a few minutes off campus and it just gives me a little bit of flexibility and being able to maximize my productivity and cutting out that community time. I, I found the classes to be just as engaging even, um, Zuma's they would be in person s O. That hasn't really been a problem for me. For my undergrad. I went to the University of Minnesota, where I studied human resource development with a minor and management worked for I worked in the human resource is space for a couple of years, went back to get my masters and information assistance from the University of Akron, and I worked for health care education software company as a software as a service business strategy analyst for about four years. I was looking for a program where I could get to know each and every one of my classmates before graduating, developing strong relationships, lifelong friendships with them and, you know, getting to know my professors on a more intimate level. I had any doubts about any of the material, and that's one of the things the great things about Vanderbilt is. I don't remember any educational experience where I had the cell phone numbers of my professors on that I could just text them, you know, whatever it is, I have a question about anything, and they would respond very timely and set up some time to go over the material with me, eh? So that is definitely something I really appreciate about this program, and I don't think that's something you can get from a bunch. E was also looking for a vibrant city, one with younger demographic, a little bit warmer. Haven't lived in Minnesota in Cleveland for for some time. Uh, looking for a city that had a good social, uh, social scene, even though we can't really explore too much of that right now because of the pandemic. Um, even though I'm not really got into food, but I love to at least go out and hang out with friends. Um and you know, we haven't been able to do too much of that. One thing I do appreciate it is that we've been able thio keep morale high. We've been able thio still interact over Zoom, uh, do a lot of virtual happy hours. Um, outside of outside of work and school, I'm also professional deejay had the opportunity to d j a couple of virtual club events. Most recently, uh oh, in black students associations of Black Jeopardy night, which was really fun. There is just a lot of opportunities for you to get into a lot of stuff, both from from the club aspect academically on, even on the social social side of things, which is something that I really value. I'm concentrating in health care, marketing and strategy and being in a very, very strong health care community such as Nashville's. I've been able to tap into the healthcare network, learn from amazing professors in the healthcare space and just develop myself. Uh, you know, as a health care professional from a leadership perspective, O. N has a very strong leadership development program. Meet with my leadership coach a couple of times, uh, in this semester and we go over some developmental areas that I have, you know, set for myself to grow throughout my time here at Owen. It's been it's been an amazing experience. I'm looking forward to, you know, taking you on on the right and and sharing my my draining with you.
