The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
I'm from the Bay Area and I am a student here at the University of Southern California. I am a freshman, and I'm currently studying psychology, although I do hope to pursue business as well in the future, since on campus dorms are closed. I am currently living in an off campus apartment with some friends located right next to us. See, So the main reason why I ended up applying to USC Dornsife was because of its emphasis on interdisciplinary learning. What that means is that students are not required to only study what's in their major or field of interest. They also have the opportunity to study any of the other 80 majors provided through academic classes or extracurricular opportunities. Even though I'm a psychology major, I have plenty of opportunities to explore different academic classes. We've been other dornsife majors such as economics and cognitive science. This provides me with a very fulfilling and well rounded academic experience, and it's something that's open for every Dornsife student to take advantage of. For me, I always knew that I wanted to be a Trojan, but The main reason why I ultimately apply to the school was because of a campus visit I did back in my senior year of high school. My family and I came to USC in the fall of 2019 to get a fuel of what it's like to be a Trojan. While I was on campus, I had the opportunity to shadow some classes to see what academics were like First hand. I also had the chance to speak to some current students about student life on campus as well as how to get involved. I even had the opportunity to speak to some current professors in the psychology department to see what their classes were like, as well as learn more about research opportunities. Walking around campus, I really saw the high spirited and tight knit community that everybody talks about when they talk about the Trojan family. I knew right then and there that I really, really wanted to be a part of it. In my short time here at USC, I've definitely had the opportunity to explore my interest in psychology through academic classes, and my favorite class that I've taken so far has definitely been abnormal psychology, which is a fascinating of clinical psychology that focuses on a normal thought, behavior and emotions. I believe that U. S. C. Is a perfect fit for students who are really looking for that work hard, play hard environment in college. If there's something that I've learned here about the student body at USC, it's that students here are really, really encouraged and motivated to dive deeper into their fields of interests as well as majors. Not only that, there are also interested in getting out there and exploring Los Angeles for what it is, and regardless of what your passions are, there will always be a place for you to explore them at USC mm.
