Hi everyone, my name is Angelique, I'm a dornsife Ambassador and today I want to talk about why USC I'm an up and coming sophomore at the University of southern California, studying human biology as my major on a pre med track. I've grown up in Los Angeles all my life and this is where I currently live and because I've grown up around here, I've learned a lot about the university as I grew up throughout the years and that eventually led me to wanting to apply here when I became a senior. There is one experience um that really solidified my decision and wanted to come here and that was when I was a kid, I visited the campus bookstore and I was walking back to my car and I just remember a bunch of USC students biking around me, walking around me all wrapping their USC gear and I just felt that trojan spirit right in the middle of campus, surrounded by all these beautiful buildings and that immersive experience really helped me decide I wanted to, I wanted to apply here and in terms of my favorite courses, in terms of my favorite courses, in terms of my favorite courses in high school, I was not the best at biology and I was really scared and even majoring in it. When I got here the intro bio course was actually really interesting. Um it definitely was not the easiest, it was pretty rigorous but at the same time as a pre med student I really enjoyed the physiology aspect of it and learning about it in an academic setting, but also applying that to my everyday life. Another course I really liked was my G seminar which was G G S M. 1 30 it was called Food and Relationships. In there we learned about the power of food, the power that food has been connecting us to one another, the different types of food, of different cultures and it really gave you um different aspects or different perspectives on how to view different cultures and different types of food and really appreciate food and what we have in our lives. It was really awesome that usa could offer that course to me. What types of students thrive at USC. I feel like we can't definitively say that one type of student thrives over the other because the general student body is so diverse and their academic disciplines or whatever the path they're pursuing. I feel like the general student body at USC is just so driven. Those are the types of students that thrive every almost everyone I've met just work so hard and it's so driven to help others to change the world to do the best that they can and being surrounded in that mindset, being surrounded by that mindset really motivates me to also want to do that to serve others and hopefully become a physician someday so I can do that and to do the best I can. I think those are, that represents the general student body at USC. And that is just amazing aspect of this school.
