So now I'm going to discuss the core structure and classroom environment for my masters and management innovation. So since we began this program in September, we have been in co vid, and so we've been doing virtual classes over Zoom for all seven of my courses a semester. The professors have taken different approaches to how they will be doing online learning for some of these classes, like marketing and finance. There are asynchronous videos of about an hour and length that we watch prior to class, and we make notes on these for marketing. This is followed by a two hour discussion period once a week, where we discuss concepts and for finance. This is followed by a one hour lecture where we learn more concepts and do practice problems in other courses. We have no asynchronous material, and we just attend a three hour lecture once a week for my project management elective. This was already an online course before code even began, and this consists of 12 modules that you do online at your own pace, followed by a quiz for each module. The in class lectures are a mixture of being content, heavy or being discussion based depending on what suits the course and professors preferences. Better discussion based classes are very nice because it's such a small program of 35 students that the courses air so small that I have one is able to participate in the conversation and get their thoughts out. Um, for several of these courses, there is actually a portion of our mark that is for this in class participation. So professors in mm I are great at offering academic support. Most classes offer weekly tutorials where additional practice problems can be trialed as well. As professors have scheduled office hours once a week, where you can go ask any questions that you have. If other questions come up, they encourage you to email them, and their quite quick at responding to these emails as well as you can schedule extra one on one sessions with them to ask any further questions about harder concepts. All in all, the biggest difference between masters courses and undergrad courses for me is the level of interaction you get with your profits and the expectation for you to attend all classes in such a small program as Mm I. I was able to become better acquainted and more friendly with my professors compared to undergrad, where there are hundreds of people in my courses. I you are expected to attend every single lecture and attendance is taken. So you were allowed to miss one class per semester and you need permission to do so. You are expected to participate and be actively engaged in every class. In terms of workload. I would say the two are equal with masters being more assignment and group project heavy and slightly less exam heavy than my previous science courses in underground.
