Hey, everyone, Uh, I just wanted to shed some light on my experience as an international student and as being part of the program, because I believe a lot of you might be interested to know one of the lifestyle changes that I went through. What was the visa experience like? And why did I take such a big decision of moving out of India? So let's let's begin and ask real questions. My personal reason for actually getting out of the country is that I believe once we have that major shift in the culture in the way of thinking and trying to explore a wider or a global perspective is definitely helpful in your career, the way you see things. Or I would say, the root factors that I wanted to get out of my country and trying to explore the world. India has the best education for MBS and management. I just wanted to explore from point of view on how does how do things go around in the world, given that I had decided to move out of the country and I have decided to choose a program that fits my needs and expectations in terms of getting a job. I I felt kinda would be a perfect place because I have some relatives here. I had heard a lot about the people that they of living. The only I would say the reason I did not choose America was it was a bit costly on my pocket, so I decided to go with Canada. I would say you need to carefully pick and choose what basically fits your need. In my case, it was getting a global perspective, choosing a country that definitely affects my pocket. Also having a kind of cushioning that I had some relatives. So it was a little bit easier for free to settle from that point of view. So that is why I took that big decision together of India. Now, the whole process did take a couple of months, so I received my letter of acceptance. Somewhere around I would say April, uh, March ish and then if I remember correctly once you receive that you will have to start your visa application process because you would need a formal letter of acceptance from your university. So you start a visa application process, try to gauge what you're like. Water expenditure would be because that you would want to estimate before you choose to leave your country to make sure you have enough funds moving forward. Once I decided on an estimate expenditure, I started gathering proof of friends that I have enough to pay my fees in. In the university, there are different ways you can choose the way that you want based on your financial point of view. Once you have done that, the visa process is fairly simple. You just need to apply on the on the website for Canadian immigration need once you get. Once you upload all the documentation and you get a result on your file, you would have to send your passport, uh, as instructed by by the Immigration Office, and then you will receive your passport and then you're good to go. One thing is once you land in Canada, once you pass through the immigration, you will get your landing papers, which is basically your study department. Uh, you will only get a visa if it's a stamp on their passport while applying. Uh, but as soon as you land in Canada, that's when you get your study permit. Uh, as as you can work part time on your study permit and and that's about it. That's that's on a very high levels and general info about how you can go through your visa process. The last one is definitely that a lot of people do ask me, and it's it's a really important one is how did I see the change in culture as that of India? How did I fit in perfectly, or however, how did I choose? So it is definitely going to be a culture shock, like don't say, Oh, I'm living in Mumbai. I'm living in a metropolitan city, so it might not be a cultural change. It will be the way you dress and the reason I say dresses, because Canadian inventors are particularly harsh and like the temperatures that you probably see inventors in Mumbai, at least for me was the temperature that I saw in someone in Canada. You will definitely make some friends the way your network is different. I would say personally, for me, it was It was a new experience that we had to go out networking to understand what jobs exist in the market. That, as in India, it was more of like, Okay, the companies can come to your campus, so be ready for that is that you need to start establishing a network, start making strong LinkedIn connections, reaching out to people being empathetic When you, when you talk to them, trying to understand what is there and not from a transactional point of view, but more from a relationship point of view, you need to continue building that. Apart from that, I would say I've been lucky that I came to a classroom and I'm in my that involved people from different backgrounds, different ethnicities, different parts of the world, so that definitely gave me a lot of perspective got to learn a lot of new things about different cultures, the way they do things, different celebrations that they have and also one of the differences. That's what makes the program and studying abroad unique is that you get exposed to so much new information. At the same time, you learn new things every day. That really helps you build up your personality as well as your your argument that you go forward because then you can think not only from one point of view, but now you know what others think. What what are the global point of views and perspectives and that will definitely help you build on your career.
