Hey, guys, My name is Fay and I am a student at the University of Toronto and the Masters of Management of innovation program, which I'll just refer to as the of my program from here on out. So in this video, I'm going to share information about what this program is all about, so let's get started. So the MME program is a one year master's program, and it's really geared towards science students who are looking to leverage their science background with a business mindset. You kind of think of it as like a little mini MBA for those with very, very limited professional work experience. That's actually what initially attracted me to this program and why, ultimately decided to pursue it. So the mm I program is kind of broken down into three semesters. You're taking five court them in my courses and one elective, and in your second semester you're taking four court MME. Courses. Two electives and then your engine ship is in the summer, so the core out of my courses are very business focused. You're taking courses like finance, accounting, marketing and other business courses like that Now, if you are a science undergrad and you're listening to this video, you may be a little intimidated because, like me when I was an undergrad, I have never taken a business course in my life prior to the end of my course. Nothing to be scared of because all your professors are super helpful and supportive, and they all want you to do well. Along with that, you also have the support of all your classmates. So that kind of leads into my next point that I do want to talk about It's that Another reason why I really like the of my program is because the class sizes so small. I have 34 other students in my program with me and because the class sizes so small is very easy for you to reach out to your classmates and make connections with them. I want to talk about the internship part of the program now, because that's really where you're gonna be building your professional work experience. My program does have some in my exclusive internships, and throughout the year you will be attending some mm, my exclusive information sessions to learn more about these internships. You can also apply to internships that are not in my exclusive because there's a lot out there. So while you are working to find your internship, you are going to be building your brand. You are going to be connecting with a lot of recruiters and people on Lincoln, and you're going to be having a lot of coffee chat. So finding the internship is kind of like a little course on its own. You really have to set time aside to find it and work on it. Now, if I were to give one piece advice to a future in my mind, it would be to have an open mind coming into this program. I was so focused on being in the health care industry and the internship that I have has nothing to do with health care, being open minded and knowing that the function and role that you want to work in exists in practically all industries. So it's mostly about finding that function and role that you want and securing internship with it.
