Hi everyone. My name is Alex Pappas. And in this video I'm going to be talking about why I chose Ramapo College. So for starters, I am a sophomore nursing major and psychology minor. I'm from Bridgewater, New Jersey and I chose Ramapo because of the amazing nursing program and athletic programs that they had to offer here. Three of my favorite things about Ramapoare the one on one relationships that you get with your professors. You're not just a number here, your professors actually want to get to know you and who you are in and outside of the classroom. My second favorite thing is definitely Greek life at Ramapo. I am currently in a sorority and I've had so many opportunities arise from being a part of it. And lastly my favorite thing is being a part of the woman's swim team. I've been swimming since I was five so it was only fitting to continue my athletic career as well as studying my academics and Ramapo allows you to do both and thrive in both. Two of my favorite classes that I've taken so far are Intro to Psych. I took that with Dr. Poran my freshman year and she is definitely the reason why I decided to minor in it and my second favorite is a course I'm currently taking right now. I'm taking an Anatomy and Physiology with Dr. Bacon and I am loving it so far. It's definitely going to be one of my favorite courses that I've taken. Two experiences that led me to apply to Ramapo would definitely be my overnight with the women's swim team when I was a senior in high school. Walking around the campus and get to know the team definitely made me realize that this is where I belonged and this is where I wanted to continue my academic and athletic career. The second experience would be my older cousin who graduated from Ramapo in 2020. He left the campus and once I saw that Ramapo had a really good nursing program, I decided to apply here as well because I knew that my family lives really close by definitely something that was taken into consideration when applying to school. And now me and my other cousin are both sophomores here. So having family on campus is something that's really special to me.
