Jennifer Boone - Why McCombs
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Once I decided to pursue an MBA, I had to work around a few parameters. I knew that I wasn't in a place to quit my job and go full-timeand frankly, I didn't want to, I really liked what I was doing and didn't want to give up a couple years of valuable work experience. I also knew that I learned best in person and that hybrid or fully virtual programs would not work best for me. So this led me to narrow down my search to three in-person working professionals programs in Dallas. I was accepted to all three and had a really hard time deciding which to choose based on components like tuition amount, weeknight versus weekend classes, satellite versus main campus. But ultimately I realized that the most important factor in my decision was the network that I would join and cultivate. And three things made me decide that McCombs was the right choice for me based on that network. But first, the weekend classes would allow me to spend more time with my classmates and build relationships with them, rather than rushing to and from class on the weeknights and try not to get home too late. Second, the Longhorn Network is unparalleled, especially if I wanted to get a job outside of Dallas ever. And third, McCombs is a top-notch business school with superior brand recognition, and so I decided to attend the University of Texas at Austin.
