Charlie - The Bigelow (2020-2021)
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
So being on the Bigelow, I would say it's a bit like trying to cook among four people, although each person on Lee has part of the recipe. So the way that the Bigelow works is that the four interns will divide up responsibilities and rotate rolls each day. One intern will be the admit on call intern who comes in to take admissions and stay through the night to cover the patients on the team. Another intern will be the plan intern who rounds on all the previous patients with the junior resident in the morning and comes up with plans for each of the patients. Then there's a swing intern who does all of the daily tasks, such as calling, console and responding to pages. Onda putting in orders toe free up the plan in turn in the junior residents around on. Then there's a post call intern, and so each day your role will be different and the team really kind of relies on you to know the patients in entirety on the team s so that you can provide the best roll that you can for that particular day, and then the next day you change roles and do something else. In the beginning of the year, I would say, definitely get takes a little bit of getting used Thio. By the end of the year, what's incredible is that everyone has gotten so used to the system that the Bigelow team structure actually works. I'd say kind of like a well oiled machine, and everyone kind of comes in and just knows what is expected and what will help make the team work best um, for that particular moment particular day.
