Linette - Why I Chose MGH (2021-2022)
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
My name is Lynette Vasquez Nevarez and I am an intern in the Internal medicine program here at MGH. There were many things that are considered when I was looking at different programs and the reason why I ended up choosing MGH had to do with the research opportunities, the community, the mentorship as well as the clinical training. I must say it was quite challenging because prior to starting intern year, I had never visited MGH. A lot of it had to do with the fact that we all interviewed virtually because of the pandemic and I think many of you will encounter similar situation and then next coming weeks. So I would say that for me when I finished my interview with M. G. H. I had a gut feeling that this was a program for me and no other program did that for me. No other interview day did that for me and that was quite special. I think it had a lot to do with the excitement that everyone had on the zoom call. I think it was also this excitement that they had to talk about my application. They were very invested in learning more about me and I also was very excited to meet such accomplish yet very humble group of people. So I was very excited to become part of this family. So I was confident in my decision even though I didn't get a chance to visit and now that I am a couple of months into residency and it's an intern here. I really hope that you all get an opportunity to learn more about us as a program and, above all as a big family. So I encourage you to reach out with any questions, and I really hope you consider us and eventually become part of the MGH family.
