So the two I will talk about today is the African american Students Union, A. K A. Su. And also the diversity equity and inclusion council. So essentially I joined ASU first to just be plugged into the black community. So as a black student, it was very important for me to come to HBs and find my tribe and really just hang out with people who understand where I'm coming from. Also from my background, as well as really just having greater conversations around how we can continue to empower the black community post graduation. So that's why I joined that club and through A C. I was then plugged in to be a part of the diversity equity inclusion council, which was an amazing experience for my first year. So essentially my role within diversity equity inclusion council was to work on curriculum. So what we do is work directly with Harvard administration on how we can improve the curriculum and make sure that students are coming out of Harvard really being clear on how to lead diverse teams and how to really talk about difficult issues around race, gender, sexuality, just general differences. That has been a really cool experience for me to really work with administration and also to really be a part of shaping the future of hard bread going forward. I will be involved with both of these clubs, so this is not the end of my first year, but going into second year, I am going to take on a new role within a su So I will be the vice president of alumni and as a part of that role, really trying to build connections with the African american alumni who have graduated from Harvard and ensuring that the current students feel like they have a sounding board and they're plugged into that writer network that we have, and I'll also be the co lead of diversity equity inclusion Council. Instead of just focusing on curriculum, my colleague and I will be working with the administration and focusing on any issues that have to do with diversity and inclusion and how we could really make harder to place that every student from any background can come here and say that was my school, and I felt like my school took care of me and looked out for me. So it's been a cool journey and really excited to see what happens next.
