Cyril Straughn-Turner (MBA '22) - Classmates at HBS
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
I've just been so impressed this year how everyone mentions going into HBs that your classmates are just one of the best parts of the experience, and that is 100% true from my experience. What what really helps and makes this such a unique experience is that we were put into cohorts, we call them sections where The overall class is broken into a set of 10 different sections and uh, my section had 71 other classmates. What they really do to make it an incredible experiences. They make sure that the section is diverse and really encapsulates every sort of background possible. What really is incredible is with all this diversity, you're able to really connect with so many people, more people than I thought I would. Um, and this is honestly just one of the most diverse experiences I've had. So, you know, really the way that I was able to really meet my classmates, they were taking classes with each other every single day, so we're seeing each other in the classroom virtual or in person um this year and you really have the opportunity to get to engage with them in so many ways outside of the classroom too. So it was easy for me to literally to just ask anyone to coffee and really get to know them one on one to doing small social events, like small group dinners where you can really engage with not only your section mates but their families and their kids and their dogs, and it just really is a great way to really see each of your section mates in a really unique way. These are people I will definitely stay in touch with after HBs next year and just so excited about all the things that we have to accomplish together.
