I'm in my dorm and today I'm going to be talking about some Colgate traditions. One fun fact that I always mentioned perspective students is that Colgate We love the number 13. It kind of holds a special place in the Colgate Communities. Heart Colgate was founded by 13 men with $13.13 prayers, so that kind of is where our love for the number 13 comes from. You kind of see the number 13 showing up in different places around campus and in different events and things that we dio. Obviously, you see the number 13 there are a ZIP code is 13346 So the first two numbers are obviously 13. Last three also add up to 13, so it's kind of funny how that happened. There's also an academic building called Alumni Hall that has 13 stairs between each floor, so the number 13 is very well loved. That's also seen in one tradition that we have, which is called Colgate Day. The 13th is usually seen as a day of unlucky nous, but for us, it's a fun way to kind of show your school spirit and show your love for Colgate. On those days, you'll see students, faculty, staff and alumni all over the world decked out in their Colgate here. It's really fun when Colgate Day falls on a day when you're on campus in class because they like to do a lot of really fun, cute things for the students. Last semester, when we had a Colgate Day, they were giving out ice cream puzzles with Colgate on the postcards, stickers and stuff. So it was a fun way to kind of come together and show our love for Colgate here on campus, another fun tradition that we have this actually my favorite is called Dance Fest, and that happens every semester. All of the dance groups on campus will come together for this huge performance in the Colgate Chapels, a really popular, well attended event, so you'll see students lined up in the cold for an hour before the doors even opens. A really fun way to come together is a campus community. Support your friends who might be dancing in the groups and just enjoy a knight of arts and dancing. Another fun tradition is a chip, which, which is an ice cream sandwich between two chocolate chip cookies. To the perspective, students burned, dairy actually makes them. Colgate students really love trip, which is, and they are given out at many events. The fact that the chip, which is come from the local burn dairy, is really awesome. So that's another fun tradition we have here a Colgate, No matter the weather. Even if it's snowing in 20 degrees, we will still give you a chip, which, and there's still really good. Those were just a few of the traditions we have at Colgate. I hope you guys enjoyed this video and stay tuned for more by.
