Hi, my name is Samuel kim and I am And alumni of the masses of biomedical sciences at Charles University of Medicine and Science. That was a class of 2020 and I am now in my first semester of medical school at ross University School of Medicine. I chose Charles Drew University because of so many different reasons. I guess one of my main reasons of choosing Charles Drew was the fact that I could go to a small school, being part of a very inclusive learning community and be a part of something that was bigger than me. So I went to a very big public university for my undergraduate, I got lost and you know, being a pre med, it was pretty difficult trying to navigate my way through, you know, planning medical school and trying to figure out those kinds of things, but Charles, you're definitely prepared me and the masters of biomedical science program is an amazing program because not only do you, you know get immersed into doing research, whether you choose clinical research versus bench research, which I did, you get to meet so many people, you get to meet so many great professors, so many physicians and it's just overwhelming, great experience and there are so many good things about Charles through. There is its community, there's this community outrage, there is the opportunities for service for volunteering, there's just so much to get yourself involved in and you know, I have a bunch of friends who came into Charles Drew thinking that they wanted to go to medical school and after spending a year at Charles Drew, they have rethought that decision. Not necessarily that they don't wanna go to medical school, but that they have been considering going to going into public health, going into different types of public policy because Charles Drew is just so good about, you know, opening our eyes to things that need attention in our society. If you're considering Charles Drew, I I would say they choose it because not only is it a great school, but the program itself, the directors, all the professors, everyone there is just so caring and so passionate about making a difference in society, whether that's in healthcare or just making a difference in general.
