My Advice for Future CDU Applicants with Yomi
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
So I'm going to talk a little bit about what I think admissions officers might look for in an applicant to residency at Charles Drew. Obviously I'm not an admissions officer myself, but I can't speak as someone who has looked around at my colleagues, both in family medicine and in the residency programs throughout the CDU system. I've seen certain things that seem to be commonalities amongst all of us. The main thing that I see is that the Drew resident is someone who is genuinely passionate about serving the type of community that we serve. Everyone has their own interests and their own unique way of engaging with the community. Each and every person has something that they're passionate about, that directly involves the community and the type of patients that we see. For me personally, I've never felt more at home in an institution, then I feel with Charles Drew, I feel blessed really that I've been able to take my strengths and then able to grow both personally and professionally in a way that both helps me and also helps to contribute to the institution and allows me to be directly involved with the community. It's something that I couldn't be more happy to be a part of. I think if you're someone who some of the things that I've discussed resonate with and you feel like you also wish to be engaged and involved with, the type of community that CTU serves, then you might also find a home at CTU and uh we'd be glad to have you.
