GOOD MORNING! Let's talk SCHOLARSHIPS!
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Finals have officially begun, which means that everyone is freaking out, including myself. I wanted Teo come talk to you guys for a second before I had to campus. Before I go grab some lunch and talk about scholarships. So B y use academic climate, as I have mentioned before, is very rigorous. Getting in is I think there's like, less than fifty percent acceptance. Once you are in, it's just it's difficult to stay ahead. So it's far scholarships go for a freshman. I think they I admit, some sort of like if they admit like ten thousand students a year, they give out about ten thousand. How are my students that they admit they only give scholarships, academic scholarships? At least Teo, like, less than a thousand students. So when I started here in high school, I had a four point one g P a. All four years. It was, like twenty six or something, but that when I got in, I didn't get any scholarships. Which from any of the universities that I was planning on going to a back up plan in New Mexico, I would've gotten like full ride a ce faras tuition goes so, b y U is really difficult to get scholarships, especially for freshmen. After your freshman year, after you declared your major and kind of like Made yourself known in your major, a little bit made some friends, the professor's taking some classes and especially after you establish your B Y u G P A. It's a lot easier to get scholarships. So what that means is every March we have a scholarship application that all the student, not all. If you asked scholarships, you fill it out and you submit it. If your G P A was like high enough your freshman year, your first semester, then you are considered for either half or full tuition scholarships. My freshman year, I got like a three eight, which was really difficult. I think I got maybe a three seven, which averaged out to be whatever it was enough that I got a half scholarship for my sophomore year. This year, I have applied for a scholarship, but I haven't heard back from them yet, but I just wanted to talk about like it's difficult to get scholarships. After your freshmen, and especially after your sophomore year, when you're really establishing your majors, you can get more scholarships like scholarships become more available, especially from your major from your school. It's more than just the university scholarships. Pell Grant also works here, and since the tuition isn't that expensive, it's think five thousand dollars about for the whole year. Um, if you have full Pell Grant, it will apply like totally too your tuition, so that it was a little bit about scholarships. If you're worried about paying for college, there's definitely ways to do so. Like I've said in other videos, we have work, study, type of things where you can work him to get money, to help pay for it and stuff like that. If you're afraid of paying for college, there's a way.
