Meet Mishka: An Acting major from Vermont
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hi, my name is Misha Rehak and I am a senior acting major at Adelphi. Currently I am now a commuter, I commute from Uniondale in a house, but my first three years I was a resident because I'm originally from Vermont, which is a six hour drive away from Adelphi. So I lived in chapman Hall my freshman year, um linen hall my sophomore year and back in chapman my junior year. Both buildings went through major renovations during my time at Adelphi and they both are super, super nice, really great to live in, not only because of how it looks but also um just the community, I was always surrounded by fun people and that's what I love about. Um it's really unmatched from anywhere else, any other community I've been a part of, I was a hall attendant for two years, which meant that I sat at the front of my res halls and monitored guests who came in the building unlocked door, unlocked the door for students. What I found that was that it was really socially stimulating because I was constantly in contact with those who I was surrounded by in the resident community. I think that's that's also what's unique about Adelphi is that you have, you know the Adelphi community which is about a medium sized school, but then the resident community is a lot smaller because we are a commuter school. So um as an extrovert who needs to feel comfortable and familiar in order to break out of my shell, I really really loved being a part of the resident community and I found that that's carried with me into being a commuter even still um I don't live on campus anymore and I still feel so connected to the community because I was a hall attendant because I used to be a resident and also because I joined Greek Life, I am a sister of fame, you proud sister of Fine You. Um I was our head of recruitment this past year, which was a really amazing experience, definitely pushed me to be a leader when I entered college without the intention necessarily to even get involved. Being a part of greek life has connected me to hundreds of people who I all have something in common with, and it's really, really expanded my network of people who I know on campus, I can't recommend it enough, I'll probably make another video about greek life itself. I I love Adelphi, I am grateful, I ended up here and I wouldn't have it any other way.
