My major is early childhood education at UT I chose this major just because I really want to help students in young Children believe in themselves. I think I have always been drawn to working with younger students and younger Children just because they are so innocent, they have a positive outlook on life at this young age, they're impressionable, they have the potential to believe in themselves if they are given the right tools and the right experiences and are engaging with the right individuals who support them and I just want to be one of those people who can help students no matter what experiences they've had in the past, no matter what backgrounds they come from, no matter what socioeconomic status as their families have or the hardships that they had to endure even at a young age. I want to be someone who, they know they can come too, if there ever need, who is able to support them and be their champion and they can know, oh Miss Wolf, she is somebody that I can trust and her classroom is a safe space for me and her classroom allows me to know that I do have the potential to do whatever I want to do. If something is challenging for me, I know that she'll be there too, help me get through it. It's honestly a blessing that I have to have the opportunity to help mode not only students minds, but their hearts as well. I think that you d, has given me the opportunity to know that I can teach however I want to teach. If it's not tailored to students needs if I'm not somebody who's students are going to want to work for, I'm not somebody who is showcasing that I care about the students. If I'm not a social justice advocate and if I'm not helping mode my students into becoming advocates to make a change then honestly there's really no purpose in what I'm doing. So I just think you d has given me so many tools to know that I'm more than an educator. I'm also a role model and I'm somebody who is entrusted with helping these students really become all that they can be. I'm just so so looking forward to all that I'm able to accomplish after graduation using all the U. D. Has taught me about education.
