Applicants must be enrolling in or currently enrolled in a U.S. post-secondary institution. Students must create a short video or write an essay discussing how bankruptcy law promote entrepreneurship and economic growth.

Applicant must be a woman, have a superior academic record, and demonstrate leadership, responsibility, and concern for others. Selection is also based upon creativity, initiative, motivation, resourcefulness, and vigor. Finalists are invited for competition during Scholarship Weekend.

Applicant must be a member of Sigma Alpha Iota.

Selection is based upon academic and extracurricular qualifications. Scholarship is only awarded at time of admission, no first time awards are made to upperclassmen.

Applicant must be a resident of North Carolina and demonstrate financial need.

Applicant must be a full-time student, have a minimum 3.0 GPA in at least 45 semester hours of higher education course work, intend to pursue teaching as a career, and demonstrate significant work with children and evidence of leadership skills.

Applicant must demonstrate financial need and be well advanced in programs of education with an established career plan for teaching. Applicant must be interested in child guidance and counseling and want to make a difference in the lives of North Carolina's children.
