Applicant must be a high school senior or an undergraduate student of any major in good academic standing at an accredited college or university. Essay between 1,000 and 5,000 words required on an ocean related topic. Cover letter required.

Applicant must demonstrate academic achievement, broad intellectual interest, and service to the school and the community.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and 30 credits.

Selection is based upon academic excellence in major.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.3 GPA and 75 credits. Preference is given to applicant pursuing the small business/entrepreneurship option.

Applicant must be a Naugatuck Valley Community College student or graduate who has been accepted to the management program at WestConn at Waterbury.

Applicant must be enrolled in the WestConn at Waterbury management program.

Applicant must be in the counselor education program.

Applicant must be a practicing elementary teacher in the reading core who has distinguished him/herself in the field of reading.

Applicant must demonstrate potential in journalism.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
