Applicant must have been in the Colorado foster care system for a minimum of 24 months between the ages of 13 and 18 and planning to pursue post-secondary education.

Applicant must be a graduating senior at Montrose County School, or a Montrose County School graduate attending Mesa State College, Montrose Campus. Applicant must be planning to attend a post-secondary institution in the fall of the year the scholarship is awarded. Community service and athletic involvement are required.

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Montrose County who plans to pursue a college or university education. Community service, good citizenship, and essay req required.

Applicant must be a graduate of Montrose High School who has been accepted at an accredited four-year college or university in the state of Colorado and plans to pursue a four-year degree. Financial need, academic ability, and involvement in activities and/or athletics must be demonstrated.

Applicants must currently be enrolled in a geological science graduate program at an institution in the United States, Canada, Mexico or Central America. Applicants must also be members of the Geological Society of America (GSA).
