Workload and Majors
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Typically male students take between four and five and a half credits each semester. Five and a half credits is quite a large workload if you want to take six credits or if you want to take less than four credits, so like three point five credits, you have to get special permission from your dean. Don't have minors at you, so you can Major and you can double major. We don't have any sort of minor curriculums. What a lot of people will dio is, for example, they will study. They will say I am an American studies major with a concentration in theater, so that just means that you're you're you're Americans Studies Curriculum is I'm built around the study of American theater on DH. It's not the same as a minor, but it functions similarly. So what? The requirements for your major and the distribution requirements usually there our Cem space is in the middle, where you could take electives or class is that don't fit within any of the distribution requirements are in your major. Oh, I guess this doesn't really count, but I'm going to tell you about it anyway. For example, last semester I took a course called Psychology and the good life on DH. It is a social science credit, so I I can't count it towards my distribution requirement. A lot of people took This is like the fifth class, and it was basically a lecture taught by lorry Santos, who's the head of Silman College on DH. It basically explain the science behind happiness, or at least the social science behind happiness, the psychology of it. It was such an amazing, incredible, incredibly interesting lecture. We conducted our own sort of, uh, psychology experiments at the end of the semester and wrote papers on them. Um ah, lot of people, like I said, a lot of people took this as their fifth class and they did not intend for this to count towards a major other distribution requirements on. That's because there's room in our thirty six credits that are required to graduate. There's tons of room depending on what you major. Of course, there's tons of room to take classes that you're very passionate about our class that you like.
