I am a junior with your college and I'm currently majoring in sociology with a minor in spanish to my understanding many of you are making a huge decision in your life right now, you know, deciding where you would like to continue your, continue your education and what not. Hopefully with me sharing my experiences of what it's like to be a student at Whittier, you can kind of get a clearer picture of you know, what to expect. So to just quickly go into a little bit more about who I am, what I thought the campus and more importantly why I chose with your college, I should like to begin with. Um Again, I'm majoring in sociology with a minor in spanish and I chose Woodier for a variety of reasons and you know, really quickly one of them is for the convenience and accessibility. I live about 45 minutes away from the campus you know, it was really difficult to decide whether it be better for me to commute or dorm. So I decided to live in residence hall and really benefited from Having my home about 45 minutes away and you know, always being accessible to me, I can't say that would be the case of everybody, but you know, definitely something I took into consideration when I chose wittier. Another reason I chose woodier is because of the overall campus community. I felt no, they were really united with one another, the students faculty and everyone involved. So I really felt like that campus have the best interest in their minds and you know, all the students best interest. You know, overall over the last few years, I've definitely seen how they continue to grow and provide resources with it. I think it's important for me to highlight, you know, the opportunities that I was presented with as soon as I got onto the campus, you know, I had work study available for me to use. So I quickly decided to start searching for a job on campus, which you know, I would like to say that they really help you with that whether you have work study or not, you know, they're really accommodating with getting you the experience you're looking for. So I got the opportunity to work as a diversity ambassador at the Office of Equity and Inclusion. For the most part we facilitated and planned events that highlighted and really educated folks on the marginalized communities that need to be supported more. You know, we tend to hear the voices of the community what they would like to see more of and you know, pull through with. You know, it's been it's been really great to see the kind of community we've been able to build in the last year and we're definitely looking forward to expanding on that. That was just a little bit of insight about what it's like to be a student at Whittier College. Thank you very much for watching and good luck in your academic and then use it.
