So because if you want to introduce yourself a little bit, Yeah, because you do that I'm a first year here at Western Oregon University, and I am a whole coast. So would you like to explain a little bit like what a whole host as what your responsibilities and what's your favorite part about being sure? So hall host, your duties are to show tour groups that come on campus just the different types of residents halls and the rooms inside the residence halls. You also do show some of the surrounding area with buildings, including the dining hall, resident service center, those kind of important buildings that, as the first year you will need to get acquainted with my favorite part about being home, is definitely learning about people's backgrounds on the tours. Each of them come from different places in the world. We have people that are coming from local areas and Oregon from people coming from Asia, Japan, China, Hawaii. It's just really incredible tto learn stories about them and how we're all coming together. So why did you choose to attend Western at your school? Well, I had several of my relatives come through Western Oregon University to get a teaching degree and their life insurance. So I always viewed Western as the school to go to. I used to actually live in independence s o. I already was well acquainted with school. Still, it was really easy choice for me to choose here because it was local. It features a major that I was planning on going into. So what is your major and what is your career aspiration with that? So I am an element free education major. I hope to teach upper elementary, which is third fourth fifth grade here in order. You So how would you describe the academic climate in the student body here? The great thing about Western is that we have a very small campus and a very small student body. So it's great because the classroom sizes are a lot smaller than if you went to a larger you first. Yes, Because of that, the professors do give you more personal feel within the classroom. So when you are working on material from the class, it is really easy for you to get help. Everyone in your class is able to converse with each other, and that makes it really easy to study the materials that you are given. Yeah, so Western, we really pride ourselves on having a fifteen to one student faculty ratio. Whereas if you were going to a larger university and you were in a in a lecture hall with, like seventy to eighty students and teachers assistant, make each student class Europe Western. The lawyers class I'm in has twenty five students, and we all have a great relationship with Professor, and we joke around and we have lots of fun. So that's something that's really nice about being at a smaller school is you really get to know your professors on a personal level and you're not competing with, you know, seventy to eighty students in one costume for the professor's attention. What is your favorite and least favorite part about Lou and why? And you could be honest in answering this question. You see them regularly as you're passing on the streets in dining holes. I have to say my least favorite is probably the lack of variety of food. What is your favorite place to eat off campus, monument or in independence? Definitely. Yes, well, think human conceived, of course, being here for questions. If you come to campus for an in person tour, you may have MacKenzie, as you call those giving a tour the residents.
