The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hi. I'm Alex, a masters of finance student at Owen Graduate School of Management. I'm originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, have been cold, but I spent the last four years down in Nashville. Undergrad at Vanderbilt studied economics and computer science. I wanted to be a software developer, but around my junior year I kind of decided to branch out a little bit. I took an internship, small fund down in Atlanta. I really got to be involved in a lot of different things. Coming out of that experience, I really decided to sort of pivot my career focus from tech development into finance. As a senior, I realized that I didn't really have the acumen. I didn't really have the background to sort of pursue the career that I wanted and so enter in Masters of Finance program I we read a little bit about online. I knew there was something that I've been considering in the back of my mind, eh? So I decided to kind of, you know, fully go for it. I knew that I wanted something that was gonna be, you know, of course, challenging academically rigorous and all that, but something that I was going to kind of feel that I fit in with the people. There is something that I could really connect with. You know, Owen had been a place that I had been many times. I walk passing on my way to class as an undergrad. I had toured a couple times. It have been something that I had considered in the past and so, you know, as a tour, different places and considered different schools, Owen still kind of just felt like home. You know, the people that I spoke with were the most on my level. I had a friend a year before you introduced me some of his sort of classmates, and they just, you know, instantly we instantly became friends. Good nice thing about Owen is that the program is a little bit smaller than some other schools. So you really get much more kind of direct face to face interaction with professors that you might not get it some other bigger business schools, and on top of that. You know, I've lived here for the better part of the past five years, and it continually amazes me at how fun and how engaging in this city is. You know, if you're into the bar scene in the restaurant scene, of course, the music scene, you know, pretty much any sort of fine art or any sort of fun to be had can be found in Nashville. It is the fastest growing city in the country, I think, or, you know, it's up there. There's always new restaurants, new places popping up. I find new places to go new parks, uh, new concerts when it's not co vid pretty much every weekend, which is something that I cannot say about other cities that I've lived in. The nice thing about Vanderbilt and own especially, is that it's right in the city. So when you're on campus, you know, you feel like you're in a campus, you feel like you have that collusion five and instantly you step off and you're in Nashville. You have all these different restaurants, one places to go, grab a coffee. Grab a drink, grab a bite to eat in between classes you own is right there in the city. So that is something that you can really enjoy because you get to kind of have the best of both worlds. You get to have that campus life, that sort of closure atmosphere, in addition to all the great things that come with it. Uh, you know, even if you don't choose to go toe in highly recommend Nashville just on its own. I'm really excited to tell you guys a little bit more about Owen and my experience, So thanks for listening.
