Hi there I'm an international PhD candidate here at the University of Wyoming in the department of Petroleum Engineering. I'm originally from Egypt and I'm working with the I. S. S. Office, the international students and scholars office as a global student ambassador, A. G. S. A. Right behind me here I have the Engineering education and research building which is the new engineering building. Honestly it's one of the best buildings here on campus as you can see right behind me here. The design is pretty cool and from the inside it's very nice. If you are going to be an engineering student you are most likely going to have labs here or lectures or whatever. But one very cool feature here in the EERB is the drilling simulator labs. So let's go inside and look at them. Mm hmm. So I'm standing here in front of the simulator roulette which is room number 2 33 in the E. R. B. Building and we'll be going inside. So it's really awesome love. And you will see what I'm talking about. We have here four different simulators can be used to get the real experience here. We have something that's very cool which is the VR equipment. So you will basically put on the VR goggles and you can walk through drilling break and see the different components as you are in the field itself. So here we have the full sized bar line simulator used to work over operations. You can actually sit in the chair and interact with the different parts of the ticket here. You have the engine control the hydraulic gauges, the speed drive and all the different gauges that show you what's going on inside the operation itself moreover you can come here and for example add one of the downfalls equipment, you click on that and then you can choose it and then you can see that actually one of the troopers grabbed the equipment and then they install it through the wire line. Mm hmm. Here we have the full size land rick simulator which has a lot of components and it basically gives you the experience of operating a real land rake here you have the gauges, different gauges and controls that can show you what's going on inside your recruitment and in the bottom hole here you have the gate manifold and the blowout preventers. And these are the different jokes and they took control unit which is the metaphor. So basically you can simulate reading inside the world where you can see here how your business is located within different formations. And then you have some interactive stuff that you can do where you can simulate for example a kick and how to deal with it and how to get it out and here we have the coil Cuban simulator basically coiled tubing is used for work over operations. So after you've drilled your well and you have some stuff to do in the bottom hole you can use this one which is similar to the wire line one but the main difference between them is that you can actually inject fluids using the college trip into the bottom. So it's used for fracking or stimulations for completions. Any operations that you might eat post really do well. Here you have the main control unit which again has all the controls and switches and the gauge is here we have the pump unit, *** manifold and the night between control unit and over here again we have an interactive touch screen where you can actually simulate some of the cases and work on it using his equipment. And last but definitely not least. We have the real ships. We can simulate drilling operations done offshore in deep waters where we use actual ships that go and float in the water and we have the different wells drilled inside the new quarter regions here we have two chairs, one is for the griller and on this for the assistant driller and again they have all the controls that they need and with the gauges and everything. One very cool thing that we can do here is actually look at different annuals of the build ships. So we have the ship purity which shows us the general review of how the ship looks inside the water. We can go to the main level. You see which is basically where the connections of the drill pipe are made and if we come here and start on the sequence control main you can see the actual units do rather type and then come forward and connected to the existing Yes some other views that we can look at here for example which is opening between the ship and the water where the real pipe goes through at the bottom and also the blowout preventer where we can have a look at how things look like at the bottom of the sea and to introduce the people responsible for the lab here I have with me Dr Tawfik Shaaban who is the lab supervisor, Dr Tawfik anything you would like to add about the lab. Hello, traffic and I'm a senior lecturer with the petroleum Engineering department. I help running this room where we welcome all the students from K 12 to graduate students. We focus on petroleum engineering but we welcome all engineering disciplines to learn about oil and gas industry. We use this room for teaching classes. We actually have classes held here in this room. We use it for industrial training and certification. We use it for outreach activities and communicating with the community about the energy transition. But we also use it for graduate research where we have master students and PhD students digging deeper into some of these topics. Simulators are very fun to have and you're more than welcome to come by and we'll be happy to show you how to use them. Thank you very much and you also have Elena who is the intern. Hi my name is Elena Sellner. I am a senior in patrolling engineering and I am the drill sim intern. And basically what I do in here is I am learning every single simulator step by step and I am also here to help all the students. So this is the drilling simulator lab here in the E R. B. And I hope that we will
