My Academic Experience at UVM
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Hi. Once again, my name is Grace, and I'm assuming here at the University of Vermont this video is gonna be a little bit different than my others. I'm gonna be speaking to my academic experience. Um, here at UVM, I would say that I have had a really fulfilling academic journey at University being within the College of Arts and Sciences. I've gotten a really well rounded liberal arts education. I've taken everything from introduction to logic to Holocaust stud Holocaust Studies, which is a new English course. I took a global history class when my favorite things About the College of Arts and Sciences is a teacher advisory program. This is something that every first year in the College of Arts and Sciences is required to be a part of my teacher advisor class was politics of the environment. This was a really good avenue to UVM specifically because I came in as a biology major and I really didn't like biology. I didn't enjoy the sciences, but my guidance come from high school. Told me that because I did so well in AP bio and made us made sense for me to continue down that path. Through the teacher advisory program, I quickly learned that political science was much more up my alley and way more what I wanted to study on DSO. I talked to my adviser, was a teacher of my top class, and he helped me make the switch, and it was the most fulfilling experience possible. I've taken more, more classes with adviser, but I've also got into the conduct research on the political effects of entertainment media. It's also been really rewarding being in the College of Arts and Sciences and being a UVM academically because of all the requirements were supposed to take. I actually took a course called Northern Native American Indians to fulfill my Diversey credit or one of my two diversity credits required by the university. What was so cool about this class is out of my first introduction to anthropology, which is now one of my two miners that I have here at the university, and it really opened my eyes to expanding my possibilities. Moving forward either has a political scientist through anthropology, another really cool thing about my activity journey here. IBM is being able to take courses through oncologists. One of my favorite classes that I've taken was actually the indirection social work through the College of Education and Social Services. What was really cool about this class going into it? I didn't really know what social work waas or what it meant to do to be studying social work. Because I took this class, I saw how it applies not only to my global studies education or my anthropology education, but to my possible career as a political scientist and what that means moving for work. I think this is a larger testament to UVM and the fact that through constantly taking classes that challenge you and push you toe, reevaluate what you're doing and what's gonna come next. I'm really grateful for my time here at the university and the ability to get a liberal arts education, but also be at a large research university. I hope this video you found interesting to learn a little bit more about academics here at University.
